| Hey everyone. I just started playing bass out of admiration and curiosity of the instrument. I must say that it can be very tricky. Im so used to playing guitar and found myself playing the bass like a reguar electric guitar with a pick. I was able to play Moby Dick from Led Zeppelin-with some mistakes -and some other songs like big city nights, and some other metal songs and find myself wanting to play more. I jam with friends at times and that is really the extent of playing with others. ANy advice on continuing plaing bass would be appreciated-PS-freexing up her in Connecticut!! |

Welcome to the bass, and the forum :)
Learning standard bass techniques will take a little work... it is a different approach than playing guitar and takes a different mindset. That said, once you have those basic bass skills down, certainly don't forget the guitar influence, it can only make your playing more "yours" with your own style. |
