Just picked this set up on Sat and I am lovin it so far. I was playing a Peavey mark IV through an 18" Trace Elliot cab before. My initial attraction to this rig was the great combination of clarity, portability, and power. I debated the VX210 and the 410TP, I felt an attraction to the aluminum cones but ultimately liked the warmth of the paper better. What I've discovered as I've had time to play at home that was not immediately evident at the store is the awesome shaping and power of the 10 band EQ. So, 2 questions: What are some favorite EQ, comp, pre-amp etc settings from Hartke users out there? And I'd like to get other players opinions on the my set-up choice ( 210 over 410, etc) Thanks for the input.

i am a HUGE fan of the 210 setup, mainly because it makes for a great excuse to buy a 115 to put on the bottom of the stack Twisted Evil another thing you can do, is keep the 210 and put a 410 on the bottom, but that is all up to you and the style of playing you do. Either way, you have a great rig to start off with and add to.

as far as amp/eq settings go, it varies greatly due to the bass i am playing or the style of music. a suggestion i can give you though is to decide what you want your sound to be most of the time and then learn the settings to maintain that sound in any size room. my personal settings normally in a bit of a curve with the low end high, next two a little lower, boosted mid range, and a little cut for the extreme high.

really, play around with your amp and remember the settings, i use my camera phone Smile
