| Possibly a stupid question but here goes; the low E on my bass is stepped where it enters the bridge so that it rests on a thin inner core rather than the fat round coil; has the string "slipped" or is supposed to be like this? I've tried to find pics online of similar basses/strings but can't get a detailed enough image so have asked the question! |

no the string hasn't slipped, it is possible that you have the wrong scale strings on your bass or like on my RD Artist, I have the option to string through the body or through the bridge, if I string through the bridge, the inner core tends to rest on the saddles like you described. As long as the string is seated properly you shouldn't have any problems with it. _________________ "I'm not a man who likes to swear, but I never cared for the sound of being alone." |
