Was wondering if anyone is the proud owner of one of these? Is this amp identical to the classic except for cosmetics or different? How this amp compare to the pro line of Ampegs as far as watts, headroom, and tone? I know the tube power is different from mosfet. any input would help im considering one of these to power my ampeg 610av cab!!!
Thanks alot

| Yes the SVT-AV is exactly the same as the SVT-CL except for cosmetics. I think they're great amps-NOT the same as the early SVT's, but good amps in their own right. I bought a 2nd hand SVT2-not a SVT2PRO- a '92 model-still 300w all tube-only a li'l bit more like the SVT-VR & only has a volume-no Master & gain. IF U don't need the headroom(or weight) of an SVT - try a V4B, V4, or V4BH-Latest being V4BH is also the lightest at about 40lbs. I've a V4BH & it sounds AWESOME!!! |
