My friend told me that the only difference is that Fender pick ups are better. Just like Gibson over Epiphone.
Is this true? What' s the real reason why Fender is much more expensive?

That is somewhat true, the American Fenders generally have better hardware all around and a higher grade or species of wood , but in my opinion the squires are on par with the mexican fenders and the Vintage modified series may even be a notch above mim fenders. _________________ "I'm not a man who likes to swear, but I never cared for the sound of being alone." |

Pretty much what RD said.
The quality of all the components (electronics and wood (solid vs. ply, for example) tends to be lower in Squire and Epiphone than their big name counterparts, BUT that's not to say this is always the case... however, for good Squire and Epis you're going to pay about as much as you will for a Fender or Gibson anyway.
That said, the quality control for Squires and Epis is pretty low and occasionally a really good instrument will ship out and be sold at the regular low price. These things are absolute gold if you happen to find them :) |
