Hey there I am currently playing a Schecter Stilletto Studio 5 string bass neck through with a 3 band EQ. I purchased this bass because I am not really a slap and pop type of guy, I do metal, hard rock, alternative rock. The string spacing is a smidgen bit narrower than my jazz (love my jazz!). The neck is relatively small for a five sting not as thin as the Ibanez SDGR series but close. The low "B" is not floppy and the EQ gives me the flexibility to adjust my tone to carve through the mix. The EMG HZ pickups are surprisingly responsive, deep and bright almost too bright for my taste but the EQ corrects that and I strung it with DAddario half rounds. Low end flat wound thump with some of the round wound sonic abilities. They are brighter than a flat wound but not as bright as a round wound. Hard hitting tone, love em!
The bass came in a honey finish that I am just not totally in love with and I am going to give the new girl a little bit of a paint job here shortly.
I believe the bang for the buck with Schecter instruments is well worth the investment.
Does anyone else have any other experiences with Schecter bass guitars???? _________________ Canadian in the Midwest, meeting new people, jammin with my band. Love your own music because someone has to! |

my guess is no.
I personally have never played a schecter, but you seem to have found yourself your perfect axe. I like the concept of the half wound strings I might have to buy some. _________________ "I'm not a man who likes to swear, but I never cared for the sound of being alone." |

The half round are a different beat of string. They have the sonic capabilities of the flat wound with some (not all ) of the round wounds brightness.
Super smooth too. Like em for metal and everything else so far. _________________ Canadian in the Midwest, meeting new people, jammin with my band. Love your own music because someone has to! |

| I've had a Schecter C-5 for about 2 years now and I can't complain...it's even slappable, although things can get a little sloppy (I'm still learning). The active EQ sounds great when run through a decent rig, and before I got my setup, I had to play through PA's. Even that sounded lovely; the active pickups and 3 band EQ make it easy to find a nice sound. I'm definately a fan, and I think I'll keep a Schecter 5 string in my arsenal for awhile. |

| One of my friends plays a Schector, using it for rock, metal, funk, etc, etc. Seems like a good versatile bass, and he loves it... he only kind of put it away when he got a Stingray. |
