I might be purchasing one of these Fender Deluxe P-Bass Special's. Not sure about the quality though. has anyone tried one of these. I suppose I can get one of these throw a badd as II on it and I should be good to go for half the price of the American P-Bass and Jazz Bass I was initially looking at. Any thoughts as to what I could do to bring this baby up to quality. Is the tone just as good as the American made? Any insight would be great.

Thanks in advance,

Nick

I have a MIM P-Bass, purchased 1997.

Replaced stock bridge w/ Leo Quan BadAssII, Basslines Quarter Pounders, and replaced plastic volume/tone knobs with chrome P-Bass knobs.

Playes like a dream, sounds awesome. With new 7150 nickel roundwounds through my BXR Dual Bass 400, it sounds like a pitbull behind a razorwire fence trying to eat someone's baby.
