my 1979 american p-bass is making a really gross noise, a tink tink kinda noise when plucking the a string. its barely audible until the 12th fret + but very annoying. i think its coming from the tuner area, but im not sure.
suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

Tell me a little more about the sound. Does it go away if you put your hand on or "grab" the tuners ? _________________ "THE REAL GREASE IS DOWN IN THE BASS GROOVE ! ! HAVE MERCY " |

As stated is the "tink-tink" only present when plucking the string??
Take the bass and shake it and listen for any rattling sounds or loose bits!
Could be your action is not setup properly. Buzzes down to the 12th fret you say?
One time pro set up with the luthier or guitar tech telling you what he is doing will save you a ton of future grief. _________________ Canadian in the Midwest, meeting new people, jammin with my band. Love your own music because someone has to! |
