Hi Group!
I'm new to the group so sorry if you have already talked about this. I tried the search but couldn't find anything. So...
Any suggestions for flatwound strings for a 5-String Fender Active Jazz Deluxe? I've been using round wounds and haven't found anyone with any experience with flats on a 5-string active bass.
Thanks a bunch,
HypnoBassMan

Try Daddario Chromes...they make a 5 string set. You'll probably have to go through the bridge on the B to ensure proper intonation but you'll be able to go through the body on the EADG strings. They are bright at first but mellow in about a week and they sounded AMAZING on my MIA Jazz Bass Deluxe Ver. They are stiff but not unplayable and I'm sure it'll require you to make a truss rod and action adjustment. |

| Hehe, here's hoping that they'd found a good set of stings back in 2004 :) |
