Hello i'm new here. I have played a little bass in a small band a few years ago, but I primarily play lead guitar. Anyway I wanted to get back into bass and am looking for an Ibanez bass, but I don't know which one, and wondered if any of you guys had any reccomendations?
I play like indie, punky rock type music, so obviosuly something fitting of this.
Oh and i'm a girl, ppl always seem to think i'm a guy on these forums!
Cheers guys! |

Hey, I own two ibanezes. My first bass is a Ibanez Ergodyne EDB500, grey pewter color. Really cool for slapping and poping, the Phat EQ is powerful and the thin sleek neck is in my opinion more comfortable for female beginner bassist. I am one too.
I had my first bass for over a year and realised that i really liked the tone of the 5string's added low B string. So i went to the shop and saw this really beautiful Ibanze BM505 Brown Mahogony. It has two bartolini MKII pickups. It is much more lighter compared with the Ergodyne i have and it comes with Elixir strings! Cool!
I think Ibanez is a good place to start off. Once you've developed your own feel and tone, you might want to move on to something else. I tend to like deep and low tones, i'm thinking of getting a Warwick. Hope this help you.
