hmmm... google "how gibson humbuckers gave basses balls"... or "Gibson basses revolutionize lead bass style with aggressive tone" wow, thats and old post... I know Les Paul designed the first electric bass, Fender produced the first and Gibson made the electric bass badass. Slap bass was invented because someone couldnt play traditional bass and beat on his poor defenseless bass like a drum.
