| Hey everyone. I just purchased an Ashdown EB 180 and got it home and noticed it didn't have a headphone jack. DUH!!! Anyhow my last amp did and i would play along with songs through a cd player and receiver into the bass amp with no problems at all. So what do i need to play that same way? Some one mentioned a headphone amp or mixer. any ideas on what to use? P.S. I need headphones to practice where i live most of the time. Thanx for any help. |

Well here is what I do. Use my portable cd player, with 'in ear' headphones, then plug my bass into a small fx unit, a Korg Ampworks, it cost me about £85 a couple of years ago. I then plug a pair of full headphones into the output of that and wear these over the top of my 'in ear' ones. This works fine for home practicing, providing you dont leap around too much, and the Korg unit has some pretty useable fx as well. So much so that I use a couple on stage! _________________ Visit http://www.planetrock.co.uk/default.asp You KNOW you want to! |

there is some inexpensive headphone amps made for just your purpose. I used to have a wee little marshall stack I picked up for $10.00 that worked just great. check out musicians friend or a similar site and they have many choices. also if you have a tape deck with a 1/4" input you could plug in there and use headphones as well. _________________ --==Warum tut es weh, wenn ich pinkele?==-- |
