I think my next set up is gonna be
Gallien-Krueger 400RB MK-IV
Gallien-Krueger 410SBX
So my question is do you guys have any comments about it? Or recommendations on something better, and or cheaper? Any feed back would be great.
Thank-you |

I answered under the other thread, but I will add, what all have you tried, there's Ampeg, Eden, Aguliar.Ashdowm, Trace Elliot, Les Calypool use to ues Mesa Boogie bfore he went Ampeg. There's Plenty of others. I don't care for Hartke or SWR. You have to let your ears decide. (and your wallet) _________________ I play Warwick and Ampeg. |

Yeah, thats why I'm opting for something a little cheaper than ampeg.
I mean I'm not sure if I should save alittle more or what.
Thanks for the heads up |

|
|
| I recently got back in touch with playing bass and I am having some difficulty with getting my sound loud enough without distorting my tone. I have a Fender Bassman 100B (100 watt, 4ohm minimum) with a Back-Line (GK) 15" cab (200 watt, 8 ohms). They are both fairly new, but I have to crank my amp all way up to be heard. At such a high volume then the speaker distorts a bit. Kinda too much even though it is a wicked sound. I would like the option between dirty and clean tones though. Is there is a fix or an adjustment I may be overlooking? |

| Guitar player has an old Fender tube amp about 250 w with a tall 4x10 speaker cab. No mikes on anything, just been playing in the practice room for a few days. I am thinking about a compressor, but not exactly sure if that will produce the desired results. |

lol if your guitarist has a 250 watt rig, you need new gear!
Mine has a 50 marshall through 4x10 cab, and my 360W Laney only just keeps up!
Either get him to turn it down, or think about investing in some monster kit!! _________________ Visit http://www.planetrock.co.uk/default.asp You KNOW you want to! |

250 tube watts, even... yeah that "old fender tube amp" probably sounds as loud as 400 solid state watts. definatly need to get some big gear to keep up. any time you crank something to 11, youre going to distort a bit. get something big that will produce the volume you need and still have some knob left. your amp/cab just aint big enough to do the job. on the other hand, if hes cranking a 250 watt tuber in a small practice room - youre going to lose your hearing soon anyways. _________________ --==Warum tut es weh, wenn ich pinkele?==-- |
