maintenance

hey, i just got a used k5 and i have a small maintenance problem

everytime i plug it into my bass amp, i get no output/feedback with it, at all

i have a new 9 volt in it, the cable and amp work perfectly for my kramer focus bass, and all the wiring seems to be in tact, the bass is in beautiful condition, i wouldve sworn it was new if i didnt kno it was used before i bought it

any suggestions? (other than just take it to a shop, my local music store wasnt much help)
