have seen for sale gibson EBO or EB3 (1964), serial no. matches date.
was wondering if anyone knows where i can find other models of this age to compare prices, or if anyone has any other tips when buying gibson basses just to help confirm that they are the real thing.
cheers

thought I smelled something stanky here... Gibson basses are the queens of low end thunder-mud.... think jack bruce. I swear by em & really enjoy the cello-like tones. first off, look at the serial number - back of the headstock, has a "made in u.s.a." stamp beginning in the early 70's above the SN. lok at the gibson script on the front of the headstock. does it look hokey? make sure the neck is set, not bolt on. ALL EB-0's & 3's have a set neck.& probably the best thing to do is post a pic on our site & well take a gander - nothing beats a trained eye. have a look on ebay for comparisons - I just sold a 68 EB-0 for 550, playable EB-3's from the 60's go for upwards of 1000. good luck & sorry for the late response! _________________ --==Warum tut es weh, wenn ich pinkele?==-- |
