Short?!? My Ric. 4001 is just as long if not longer than a fender pbass of jazz bass. What kind of ric did you try? The bass pickups are somewhat small too (about the size of a pbasss).

oooooohhhh. You must have been playing like a 620 or something. Ric. guitars are small but they sound great.

I finally got to play a Ric today. I didn't really like the feel of the neck although it was very shiny. It was kind of sticky, and hard to move around.
