Just joined - I'm 58 and played orchestral bass in Jr. High and High school. Got my first electric bass (a '63 P) in 1967, and played in dance band / big band for a few years locally. Took 24 years off from 1973-97, when I got my P-bass back and re-discovered music. I play in a surf band in Fort Collins, CO. I've collected about 9 basses of various types, all 4-string and passive. I plan to have a web page up for my band at VintageWinds dot net in the next few weeks, but it's not up now and won't be until at least July 6. (Vintage Winds is code for old farts, since we range in age from early 50's to early 60's.)

I am a member of Talkbass, BasAssBassPlayers and an ex-member of Fender Forum (PM me if you want to know why). I use the same username on all of them.

My best to all of you - hope to get to know you soon.

Yes, I do. I had it painted Ford gold metallic about 1972, as the original Oly white was all chipped up (not by me - it was that way when I got it). The truss rod broke in the original neck, so i had it re-necked about that time as well.

It's nice and light, and aside from the neck, paint and MAYBE the strings, it's all original. The flats on it are the same ones that were on it when I had it re-painted in 1972, and I don't remember having changed them since I got it in 1967- although I can't be sure that I didn't. I sure don't plan to change them in the future unless one breaks.

I'll come back in the near future and add a photo to this post - can't do it yet because I'm still under 10 posts.

old flats also? pure Mojo, I am not a P bass guy but I have been thinking of picking one up( probably the Squire Vintage Vibe) to round out my collection.

Everything I've heard about the Squier VM series is good. I also think that the MIM Fenders are well worth considering. A P-bass is a handy thing to have around.
