My Gibson Ripper is very easy to tune. Seems like it tunes up easier than my fretteds!
Stays pretty much in tune unless it gets a hard bump or placed in a gig bag. _________________ Life is just a game and there's many ways to play and all you do is choose |

They're not inherently more difficult to keep in tune than a fretted instrument... as long as it's a well built instrument it will stay in tune, just like a fretted.
Getting it in tune, well, if you have an electric tuner, well, it's exactly the same process. If you're tuning by ear and matching fretted notes to open strings, it could be a little more difficult, in that you have to be more careful in your finger placement... but using harmonics to tune requires no more effort than with a fretted... and if you can tune based simply on open strings, it's all the same. |

| My Squier FVM, for and inexpensive bass, stays in tunes very well. I've not had any problems with it. The only time it's gone out of tune is with the new strings stretching a little. |
