I'm going to be spending a couple of days in London this December. What are some good music stores that are worth visiting? Is London at all like NYC where there are several stores on one or two streets, like Manny's and Sam Ash on 48th St?

As far as CD's go, I know there's Virgin Megastore. What others are worth checking out?

Or anyone who's visited London recently? Or can anyone suggest another message forum where I might find out about music stores in London?

Thanks . . .

All the main music shops ( as in musical instruments) are centred around Denmark street, east end of Oxford Street. Prob 4 or 5 shops for your bass gear! lemme grab a music mag and I'll post some addresses if you want.

Thanks again! Are there also stores with more varied inventories, like guitar, drums, PA's, etc?

Don't tell anyone, but I'm really a guitar player, however my brother plays bass.

Actually, I own a bass, but my brother has it. I even had an 800 watt Peavey Max amp w/ 2x10/2x18 cabinest. However, sadly, I sold it. I really wish I'd have kept it, but I had no way to get it from San Francisco to Florida withouth spending a fortune. I tried to post a picture, but it won't let me.

I got it because too many bass players in my band didn't have amps large enough to keep up with my amps, so I solved the problem when I got a settlement. That way, all the bass guy needed to do what show up - he didn't even need to bring his own bass if he didn't want to. At least I still have the bass (and the guitar amps) . . .
