| Its hard and durable, and I think it has tonal qualities similar to ebony. |

I just bought the new Squire Deluxe active V which has an ebonal fingerboard, it has a smooth silky feel to it, although it has the appearance of plastic it feels very nice, none of my other guitars have an ebony board so I can't really compare it to ebony, but it holds up well versus rosewood and is not bright sounding like maple. Although I am not sure how much of that is due to the active electronics, it feels very durable, I like it a lot. _________________ "I'm not a man who likes to swear, but I never cared for the sound of being alone." |
