Are there any Metallica fans aboard?
What do you think about the recently published cover of "The Ecstacy Of Gold" and their upcoming album?

Dude this band went down hill after the Black album.

But there is hope now that the fired that idiot Bob Rock!

I'll have to listen to their newest work and see what it's like.

Dude you sound like an old school fan, I'm more of a fan of their older stuff too, but I also like the new, of course I hope for something better with the new album than than the last releases ( S&M and Garage Inc. excluded ).
What do you think of their new bassist Rob?

Im for a sure a true fan - been ever since '85 when I saw them open for Ozzy and enjoyed every album they put out, some are for sure better then others but being a musician for over 20 years (metallica being my influence to start playing, metal) I will never stray as a fan no matter if they put out a ballet or something like that - yes bob rock wasnt the best choice but then when you do something the same for so long change is good - rob on bass was the best choice, he is without a doubt a cliff burton part 2 and I hope he stays with the group till the end (which better be another 100yrs) - and now they rick ruben producing OH YEAH this will gonna be one interesting new album to come out and I cant wait - love it how the anticipation can kill ya -

so yes you can say I like metallica lol

i win... dam wrong thread

Old in body not in heart and mind. I still lay it out with Lamb of God, Dimmu Brogir, Norma Jean, SOAD dude. Just been around the block enough to like them then and not so like them now. That does not mean I hate what they do I just prefer the older Metallica over their newer stuff.

I'm a fan of old Metallica. Black Album Metallica. I can't stand new Metallica, especially after the ridiculous Napster controversy. That aside, though, their new stuff just does nothing for me.

True that! I liked the Load album though. After that....I stopped listening to them.
