Two 4x10's versus One 8x10?

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has compared two 4x10's and then one 8x10 side by side using the same amp?
Is there much difference to the human ear? I know that the 8x10 is a legend, but the hernia inducing weight makes it impractical for most gigs whereas, two 4x10's are more easily carried and then stacked.

Any answers??

never actually tried, but 2off 4x10 sound petty fine to me, unless to have a roadie with a hernia belt!!
