I'm looking for a sweet, smooth sounding volume pedal. I use volume swells more often than most bass players, so it is important that it does not suck my tone. I've had it with my earnie ball pedal, the pot made too much noise and sucked away my tone, so I sold it on ebay. I tried the Hilton infared volume pedal, but my bass lost some low frequencies running through it.
Any suggestions? Money is not an issue, only tone.

Also, I have recently become a fan of Muse, any pedals that can mimick the bass tone on Hysteria?

thanks,
Dan

I'm sure I read, in an article in Bass Guitar magazine, that the buzzy sound you hear was created in the studio by deliberately feeding back a 2nd amp and running the 2 together into the desk, or something like that. It wasn't an fx pedal as such. I'm pretty sure he doesn't use that particular sound when playing live
