OK I got this Ibanez Roadstar II cheapish,
but I'm not happy with the action or the bow in the neck.
Do any of you people know how much of a concave a bass neck should have
and or how to measure and set it up.
If I lay a straight-edge between the 1st and say the 21st fret
what maximum dip/gap should there be from straight etc...
Just looking along the strings and stuff is deceptive to say the least...
What is the correct way?
or
Is there any sites anyone knows of...
that describe this part of guitar maintenance?
please.
I wouldn't tackle this with an expensive axe,
but I can afford to play with this one.
Let's give it the chop eh? ?

the bow of the neck should be not too far inward or outward, if its to far inward, you'll get extreme fret buzz... not fun.. if its to far outward, you'll experience high action in the middle and low action at the top and bottom of the neck.
