| Has anyone replaced the their pickup. I have EMG HZs on my new Spector, but I really like the warmth of Bartoloni humbuckers. I know unscrew the hold downs and take them out, but what about the wires. Do I need to find somebody that can solder? |

I've just completed a few Mods to my MIJ75ri.
....I replaced the stock p/ups with Bartolini 9j's, which are direct drop in replacements. (I wouldn't want to mess with re-routing the p/up cavity)
Basically there are 2 wires per p/up....a hot and a ground. I had zero experience w/soldering....so I practiced a bit b4 attempting the real thing, and took it nice and slow. You must have patience.
My task was a bit more tedious as I was working with a J-Retro pre ....and the pins that the p/up wires attach to are very close together.
2 hours later......Wa-La !!! Everything worked perfect ....the 1st time.
1st impressions on the Barts...are that the tone is Deeper...and I'm able to get some decent 'Growl' when I dig in....
Drop me a line if you need more info...or specifics not mentioned here. I'd be happy to help.
