I just recently got an Ampeg SVT-CL head and the -15db input jack is not working right. I can use it for a while, but then it stops working and if i push in on it then it gets a connection and I can use it. I'm assuming that its just a bad connection on the inside and I need to bend that one pin in to where it touches the cables input, but I've never opened up an amp before and wouldnt want to mess anything up since I spent my life savings on this amp. Oh, and the 0dB input works fine but I need to use the other one for my MM Sterling.
Thanks for any help,

Im sure if you take it in to a tech at yer local music shop, theyll crack it open and have it fixed in no time. Even if it requires a whole new jack or resoldering the old one - I cant see that as an expensive fix. Id say round the 20 dollar range If I was replacing a jack. Might just be a bent contact like you said, in which case you might get away with a handshake for payment. But dont tear somehting apart if you dont feel right doing it. Nice choice on an amp, BTW - I cant wait to get some bills paid off so I can find another one. I owned one from the 70`s and is was the best amp I ever owned. I cant wait to be able to afford another. Good luck! _________________ --==Warum tut es weh, wenn ich pinkele?==-- |
