hey guys, this is my first post so this might be a stupid question. ive been playin bass for about 2 1/2 years and i have an Ibanez SR300DX. for some reason, whenever i turn or put pressure on the equalizer knob, it makes a static sound. has anyone ever had this before and is there anything i can do to fix it?
thanks

If the static occurs when twisting the knob then the pot is dirty. It can be cleaned by spritzing with some Caig De-oxit. Spray a short burst in the opening near the contacts and rotate the knob back and forth twenty or thirty times. That will eliminate the noise. N.B. Do not use "color tv contact cleaner" or any of the junk that is sold at the electronics store at the mall. It's garbage and will attract more dirt in the long run than it got rid of in the short. De-oxit can be purchased from Stewart MacDonald online or by calling them.
