Well,
other than what I said in my first post of this thread, not much to say.
I've written and copywrited about 45 songs and recrded about 12 of them.

Haven't written music in along time.

I just try to relax and enjoy playing with my band.

What you say is true... things ain't what they used to be!

But I guess I look at this place as a community. When I come into this forum, I appreciate knowing the people (as much as is possible) and getting an idea as to what they like, hate, contribute to (and detract from), etc. I have found with the bigger forums that it can take three working days and a lot of aspirin to find a post more than once, and you're lucky if anyone has answered the question with any depth. Granted, things may take longer here, but I believe the answers are worth the wait more often than not.

When I first joined, there were some real characters that I do miss. But, I still think that this community has more to offer than a mega forum.

What can I say about myself???

I am a 30 year old Minister of Religion (Captain in The Salvation Army)currently working with drug & alcohol dependant people who are either homeless or at risk of being homeless. I am chaplain, facilitator, counselor and bouncer at St. Kilda Bridge Drug & Alcohol Network.

I have just had a baby daughter *YAY* (well, my wife actually had the baby... but she is my daughter as well...).

I used to be a heroin dealer and addict, and when I found a way out for myself, I wanted to be in a position to affect change to make it possible for others to help themselves. I got edumacated in drug & alcohol stuff, and then found that I wanted to be more than that. 'The God Thing' became more and more important in my life, and before I knew it, I was studying theology!

In the past, I have been a salesman, a judo instructor, personal trainer, drug dealer, hired goon, cleaner, and short order cook, among many other things.

Music is a huge part of my life, and I believe that without it, I would die!!!

Hey guys!

I'm not sure if its me or the forum, but I have been unable to get here for most of the last 6 months or so, I always get the 'code 404' message. But have been a member since 2003.

I've been humming basslines to songs since I was 11 (now 46) Finally indulged my mid life crisis 3 years ago and bought a little Squier P pro and a fender 30 watter, promptly joined a band and been playing live on and off ever since. I learned more in a band than I ever did from instructor or CD!

I now play a Yamaha BB4 active with a Laney 350W half stack which suits me, no effects, the occasional pick ( but def prefer fingerstyle) and I'm having a ball. Probably not learning anything like enough to be a really good player, but I'm doing it for my enjoyment, not for a living so........

Now the forum seems to be up and running again, I will try and post more often.

PS Gratz on the babby Neil, glad to see you're still here, any other old regulars still around?

CQ: Your exams are finished, or *gulp* has the parental unit been finished?

Mkuk0: Thanks for the congrats! I am concerned about the wellbeing of some regulars. I have been scanning tabloids to see if any unusual alien activity has been reported, but nothing so far. The only other thought is prison or kidnapping. I thought that you had been abducted or something, but I'm glad I was wrong. Welcome back, old sausage!

nah the exams are finished

the parental units are still annoyingly annoying

for example

i am now grounded, not because i got caught doing drugs, or god in some random guys car and went and had sex with him, or because i had all my friends over and we got drunk and trashed the house, or that kind of thing that teenagers are supposed to get grounded for.

apparently my room was too untidy

just because i am a good girl doesnt mean that she can punish me for the small little things!

(well obviously it does, but that wasnt my POINT)

Well, I must say that I hope you'd get more than grounded for some of those things mentioned!!! Laughing

But you're right... that's pretty lame in my opinion! A dirty room? My goodness... I'm 30, and I still have trouble keeping a room tidy for more than a day!
