I have an older Ampeg BA-115 w/ some serious probs. I've searched the net and found out that there are many ppl dis-satisfied w/the design flaws with this amp, but NOTHING about what the problem actually is. Anyone have one of these beaters that they've had repaired,or any info at all ?

It wasnt a tone problem before, but NOW it is.I left her unplugged and covered for about 2 months, and now she snaps crackles and pops worse than a box of Krispies w/milk.Now she sounds like the speakers blown after roughly 6 hours total playing time since I've had her.She does do a great impression of a well defined fart now though LOL.
I read some reviews on Harmony-central and its EXACTLY the same complaints as posted there. When I plug in a pair of headphones into the phone jack and pull it out again it stops the problem for about 5 mins, then it starts all over again. Ive tried hooking her up to another cab and still the same problem so its not the speaker.
Ive had her hooked up to an Ampeg 6x10 HLF ( about a year ago ) and she was like butter, that was before the CHANGE.But now this amp is totally useless and unreliable.

now Im considering pulling the chasis, the speaker, and the tweeter out, and converting it into either an 8ohm or 4ohm extension cab myself.
But how the hell do I get the front "grill" off to access the speaker and tweeter ? anyone ?
