Hey!
I advanced my music knowledge another step today when I repaired my electric guitar. I plugged it in yesterday and all I got was a loud hum. I looked in the electronics compartment and a wire was loose, it must have been the ground wire but I know very little about this. Today I bought a soldering iron and soldered it back, first time I have soldered in fifteen years. The wire was wound around the input jack in a way that it was bound to be worn off, so I changed that, and when I plugged in the guitar it sounded better than ever! Happy, happy.
Have you performed any repairs on your instruments lately? _________________ I've recently done tons of reflecting on my life and have come to the realization that my life is awesome |

Congratulations. The first step is always satisfying, isn't it? Incidentally, the wrapping of the wire is due tightening the nut that holds the input jack shaft. Those nuts tend to loosen after a while, and when you turn it for tightening, the whole thing rotates, thus wrapping the wire when it shouldn't be. Good fix. _________________ ....ain't happy unless the airport calls to complain about the noise...... |
