I posted this in the Techniques forum but it may be more appropriate for this forum.

am looking for recommendations on a DVD or computer program that will help me better understand some basic bass styles. I have a lot of experience with church worship bands but am being asked to take over the rhythm section to improve their skills and develop a better baackdrop for the singers.

What I am looking for is something I can play along with that will explain things like the patterns, pace or stlye of Latin, funk, swing. etc. I'm not so much looking for bass playing technque as I am seeking something that will help me unhderstand how the bass sets the style for the song.
