I posted my problem in another thread, hopefully someone might be able to give me an answer here. I don't have alot of experience with swapping necks so bear with me. I've got a 71' fender musicmaster bass that I love but I really would like to get back to playing a fullscale bass. Since I don't have a P or J handy to compare it to, is there anyway to swap the short neck out for a full scale(preferably a J bass neck, but I'd be happy with a Pbass neck too) without destroying the body or butchering it to bad?
Sorry if this eems stupid but I've been playing for years and it's something I've never ran into or even wondered about til now.

I have changed neckes on guitars, but that has been like for like,i don`t know if a jazz neck will fit, the lenght where you bolt it on might be longer, so you might need to increase the heel lenght by cutting into the body .
Sorry i can`t be of more help. _________________ Space Rock Rules |
