Pros and Cons of tuning a bass like a guitar
aside - will the neck of modern 6-string basses (specifically Ibanez SR406) warp under the tension of tuning them like a guitar, but an octave lower (ie E-A-D-G-B-E)?

| Yes, they are made for a particular tension from a praticular tuning/string gauge(s). You could probably find a better neck (or instrument) to suit you a little better. |
