So, I was lookin for a new bass amp. My guitarist is using a 30W so what would be a good Bass amp to match his volume. I was thinkin a Vox T-25. Is that a good idea? _________________

You want at least 3 times to power so a 100W bass amp/combo really. I dunno what the T25 puts out, so not sure if that'll do the job or not. Hope this helps. _________________ Visit http://www.planetrock.co.uk/default.asp You KNOW you want to! |

Why would it have to be 3X louder? and the T-25 puts out 25W _________________

| Higher frequencies get across easier. I know this from singing in a choir where the sopranos were always heard without much effort while the choir leader was always yelling 'Louder!' to us bassos in the back. |

Yup, to a listener at the back of the room, your 100W bass sound would be about as loud as a 30W guitar amp. There is some maths invilved to prove it, but its a long time since I did any of that, and I've forgotten it! _________________ Visit http://www.planetrock.co.uk/default.asp You KNOW you want to! |

there was a guy on another forum asking a similar question... oddly enough, the band he is in is called smokestack lightning _________________ take a piece of cloth, a coin for thirst, for the sweat will start to run,

hmmm 30w of guitar. Id go with an Ampeg SVT, 300 watts of all tube rumbling madness when teamed with an 8x10 cab & a sledgehammer tied to your toe so you can still hear it tap to keep time. Hell, make it two to eliminate any doubt. But if you dont want to be shot by your bandmates for permanantly impairing their hearing & causing them permanant sterility from over-exposure to 6L6/12ax7 tube mojo, follow Mkuk0`s advice. He is wise & knows much of what you ask. _________________ --==Warum tut es weh, wenn ich pinkele?==-- |
