Hello people - Just signed up.
I've been playing bass for a few years, but thru a keyboard amp, and now want to get a combo for small venues, pubs, church halls etc. I've been looking at the Roland Cube 100 bass. I'm a bit concerned it might not be up to it, because of its size, but the spec is very good - lots of extras. Does anyone have any experience of this amp?
Cheers,

I have played the Roland 30 with built in effects, and gigged for orchastas and city municpal bands with a roland cube 60 and it did great for outdoor shoows, of course I was the only electric instrument.
I like the Roland line I think you cand get more bang for your buck if you look around as far as power but I think the Roland sound very very good, I have offten considered getting the Roland 30 for a small praxctice amp |

Well, I took the plunge and got one - what a cool piece of kit!
Plenty loud enough for the kind of venues I play - I even have to put on the 10db attenuator to quieten it down a bit!
Lots of nice amp models and effects to add variety to different song styles. With a little help from the 4-channel eq and the 'shape' switch I got the bass end of it sounding quite sweet, despite only a 12" speaker.
Roland have obviously put a lot of thought into this amp and, at a price tag ranging between £250 and £299, I reckon it's excellent value, a great practice and medium-small venue amp.
Thanks for the advice! |
