Hi guys. Posted this on the dudepit but didnt get much of a response. Anyways, im looking to get a hartke head because theyre reasonably cheap for the power they give. Im not sure tho wether to get the 5000 or the 5500 model theyre the same price. Any advice?
Ive got a 2x15 500 4 ohm cab and I play an elitist epiphone eb3.

If you're not interested in buying another halfstack for your highs, go with the 5500. If you want to add say a 4x10 cab to the top, get the 5000. If you have a ton of money burning a hole in your pocket, get both _________________ Current Setup:
BTB406QMTK Bass Guitar (18v Active)
Peavey 1820 Black Widow Cab
Hartke HA7000 (for 18inch sub)
Hartke HA2000 (for 8inch highs)
Soon to have:
Line6 Bass Pod XT Pro
Furman Power Conditioner
Korg DTR2 Rack Tuner |

get the 5500. its always good to have some head-room for expansion. besides, if its the same price, why the hell not?
plus, the 5500 looks totally sweet in that old school case design _________________ "Excuse me Sir, but do you know how to get to Carnegie Hall?"

I have an HA5500. Loud as hell. Sounds great too. 4 ohm minimum though, but I run 2 8ohm cabs.
I know a guy who has the 5000 and runs 2 4x10" transporters. Sweet.
Depends on what you want to do and what cabs you run. |
