Hi everyone, I want to get a good music theory book and I'd like to get your opinion on the matter, so which book do u consider best?

I would have to imagine that any college Theory textbook would be decent. I don't know if they make a music theory for Dummies book, or I'd recommend that. Mine were decent, but I can't remember the name of mine right now. I think they were just called, Harmony and Advanced Harmony.

I just went out and bought a great theory book. "Berklee Practice Method Bass" has everything you need to get started with theory. It is just one book in a line of books for various instruments. It is also very oriented on the reader getting into a band.

This is supposed to be a great book I have ordered from my local store but it has been backordered it is called EADG4

also go to www.bassbooks.com they sell it all if my local store does not get it soon I will just get it there

Well all I can tell you is that when I took Music Theory (college class..I'm a freshman in high school) I failed it MAJORLY...

It was a SUStained and AUGmented embarassment on a SCALE as you can only arpeggiate about.

Check out the Dummy Series of books. They are a fun read and have great information in them. Are you just looking for a "Basic Theory" book or one geared for Bass Guitar? Bassbooks is a cool resource.
