Hey, Im a complete beginner and i was wondering what people thought of theGSR200 if you own one or have ever played one. Because ive heard some pretty good stuff about it. Is it a good beginner bass? _________________ ~ruler of northern europe and forum authority on all things space aged and cat related~ |

Yes.
I'm not going to dazzle you with neck scalage and pick up specs. Nor am I going to tell you the amazing array of colours you can buy them in. I will not mention anything about the kind of tree that it is made out of. I am not even going to tell you that for the money you pay, you are getting Ibanez quality; not a 'made by Ibanez' stamp.
What I will say is that it is a very good beginner/intermediate bass guitar. But what I will also add is that you need to try one out for yourself. I think it's good, others will think it's useless. You are the one who's desicion and opinion counts, because you are the one who will be playing it! Go and try one out, but also try out everything you see in your price range; both new and second hand. The bass for you is out there, but you won't find it here asking others about what they think. If you wanna know if something is quality, then sure, most people have a fair idea about that. But what bass is good for someone... that information is God's alone. _________________ Alright!

The bass for me is just going to have to wait for a while, because I was sooooo stupid and completely forgot about the amp, so i don't have enough money for both an amp and a bass right now. So imsaving, But thanx anyways. _________________ ~ruler of northern europe and forum authority on all things space aged and cat related~ |

Use the time, dude! While you are saving, terrorise every music shop in your area. Don't let them get ANY new stock in without giving you a call. You can learn a lot during this time when it seems like nothing is happening. Get out there and play play play play PLAY! I own three basses, a semi acoustic, and an electric guitar, but I STILL can't walk past a music shop without sticking my head in for a jam. They see me coming, they roll there eyes. But the day that I drop a couple of thousand on what I can't pass up on, they forget that I'm annoying 90% of the time. It's there job to serve you, so don't feel as though they're the ones that know everything about music. They don't.
So again, I urge you to use this time to play everything that could possibly end up being your bass guitar! _________________ Alright!
