Hey everyone
Im thinking of buying an swr workingmans 15 combo 160W. I was always planning to buy it new but now i've got the oportunity to buy a second hand one for a lot cheaper.
Its a year and a half old and he says he hasn't used it alot.

Can anyone tell me anything about the amp,
any problems to look for when im checking it out,
is there anyway to boost the wattage?

Amps are definately not my department so i know almost nothing. any info or suggestions anyone can put in would be great.

I've been checking around the net but i'd prefer to hear what real people have to say.
thanks.

i dont know if i can help much, but here goes:

i own an older workingman's 10. i love it to death. i use it for light/medium gigs and for some recording. as far as features and perks of an SWR amp it is a 10. im not positive about the 15, but im sure it is basicaly the same just with a few more features

your watts are set. the only way to get more power from your amp is to plug an expansion speaker into the expansion speaker out plug.

as far as what to check for in a used amp, check it with your own bass. that can change the sound of the amp based on just your ax's electronics. listen for any static when you move the nobs on the amp. also check the speaker itself for audible defects (cracking and bad distortion at high volumes).

well, thats all i have to offer. i hope i have helped you somehow.

I've had one about a year and a half and enjoy it. Added the 2X10 extension speaker, made a nice improvement. Band likes it too.
