greetings,

I have a problem with my Hartke 3500. It keeps blowing fuses and I'm not sure why, or how to go about fixing it.

The only modification that I did to the amp was this. At some point in playing the fan seemingly burnt out at a gig. I got it home and found out that the fan was still in working condition and that for some reason it wasn't getting power. I ended up just hard wiring it to another power and ground source. That seemed to fix the problem.

After that modification, I played a 4 hour gig with no problems with it overheating and shutting off. The next gig I got through 1/2 of the first song and the amp kicked off. It wasn't hot to the touch like when it would kick off before due to the fan going out. I popped the fuse holder out and saw that one of the fuses was blown. The next day I bought a new fuse, put it in the amp, kicked on the power and it was on for a half second before that fuse blew. I tried another fuse with the same outcome.

So my question is that what could be causing these fuses blowing, and how could I fix it. I don't want to have to get another amp or send it away to get fixed as that costs money that I don't have. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
7inches

I've got the same problem with my 2000. It blows out when I flip the switch. What's up? It's not overheated, and not mismatched.

thats strange. i can rock the house all night long with my 3500 with absolutely not problems at all. what kind of cab are you pushing with it? i dont really think that would cause a fuse to blow, but it might have something to do with it. mine is matched with an older 410xl that handles 240 @ 8 and that is exactly what the amp puts out...thats all i have for now.
