can anyone tell me if this head and this speaker will work together?

the head is 300 watts and the speaker is 150 watts. not sure if i'm going to buy them yet (used), but the guy said when the head turns on, the "CLIP" light stays on (red). is there a problem with it? thanks in advance

8 ohm cab, amp is stable at 4 ohms (300 watts) or 8 (180 watts). Only overpowered the speaker by 30 watts, don't think that's enough to fry the voice coil, but you never know ^_^. Like DW says, if everything is hooked up right, there could be a problem!

As was stated you set up is a bit more than the speaker should be handling. If the transporter has the output you're looking for then you might want to consider a smaller head. I've got a Transporter and I love it. i use an old Laney Linebacker120BH to push it. (200w head) the output is 120w and 4ohms and it sounds incredible. Perfect for real small venues and things where alot of amplification isn't necessary. I was thinking about once our band is ready and if we get into venues where I need a bit more to get the cabinet, but tbh I like the sound this puts out so much I may just pick up another one and go with that set up. Good speaker.
