Hey, guys!
I'm looking at a 4004 Cii Cheyenne II. Unfortunately, I am really into slap bass. When I see guys who do a lot of slap, they usually have a Music Man (I assume because they're hefty) or a Fender Jazz (just a given).
Would I be an idiot to buy the 4004 if I planned to do a lot of slapping? Would it hold up as well as a J or a Music Man (side note: I have never liked the look of the MM. Prefer something a little more classy)?
What about the Rick tone; is it good for that sort of thing?
Do you know any slap-happies who use a Rick? |

Rickenbackers are not good for slapping at all. They are great for picking and fingering but slapping on a Rick is a waste of time. If you are into slap get a music man or a fender....or if you can afford it an Alembic or Modulus. Rics are choice basses but not for slapping. _________________ Sometimes we ride on your horses
