hey bassdoggers! i haven't been here for like months... been bz with my final exams and stuff..

anyway i recently bought an Ibanez GSR200 and my J Pickup is giving me a buzzy sound everytime i turn the volume up..

anyone here who has experienced the same problem? and how do i solve the buzzy sound.. it's really getting on my nerves everytime i use that pickup..

I have a '02 GSR205, which funnily enough buzzes sometimes. (more noticable through a DI box than through an amp??)

I'm just about to order an active eq circuit from the SRX300 to replace the stock pots as they are of pretty poor quality. I'm hoping that this will sort it out as I'm pretty sure its not the pups.

Have you check your earth wire is properly connected to the saddle? Have you taken off the back cover to see if there are any loose wires etc?

i have a gsr200 and i switched out the p-bass pickup with a seymour duncan spb quarter pound basslines pickup and it sounds great. But everyone is right, the jazz pickup does have nasty hum on it. Any one else have the black one? Twisted Evil

No, red.

And turn the tone pot down all the way, it gets rid of the hum. Only use it for the split coil pickup.

I have an Ibanez GRS200 JAZZ bass. It busses often also. Do you think it matters whether or not the guitar is a P-Bass or a Jazz Bass? Question
