you have to remember BEADGCF as order of flats because the exact opposite FCGDAEB is the order of sharps....

some guyss cme up with thiss thing called circle of fithss a while aago.it has worked for many people. it should work for you.

C g d a E b f# C#
number of #'s 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7

c f Bb Eb Ab Db Gb Cb

number of b's 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7

all this means is that in order to keep the major scale measurement of 2 1/3 3 1/2 steps .you haave to sharp the 7 th degdreeof thee nexxt sscaale in the circlee of 5ths and flat the fourth dregree of the next scaale in the circle of 4ths to maintaain the major scale formula in the neww key.

The major scale formula is 1-1 -1/2 -1- 1- 1 1-1/2.

in the key of C ,it's just C D E F G A B C

to follow that measurment in G , if you start on the fifth note of the C scale and go : G A B C D E F G_you are in C still. ( G mixolydian mode)

By sharping F,you get the half step at the end , getting the measurement correct and you now have G major: G A B C D E F# G starting on the fifth note of the G scale ,you keep the F# and go : D E F# G A B C# D . you keep the # from the last scale , star on the 5th note of the last scale ,and sharp the seventh note: you get D major scale , do the same starting on the 5th note: A B C# D E F# G# A etc.

Keep going until all notes are sharped and you have the circle of fifths.

Start on C major scale: C D E F G A B C And take the 4th degree of the scale ,F and go F G A B C D E F AND flat the fourth degree and you now have F Major ( the Bb makes 1 1 1/2 111 1/2 ) and you have F G A Bb C D E F ,or F major scale. Take the 4th degree Bb and start again and flat it's 4th degree and you have a Bb scale. Keep going until all notes are flat for the circle of fourths.
