So I've was shopping around for a combo for about 2 months when I dediced about 2 weeks ago that I was fine with what I had and didn't need to sink more money into another rig, that I would be just fine with what I have now. So i used up the money I had saved up to put the down payment on a car a new car for my wife.... whipped I know. So we went out and got her a new car. The following friday I loaned out my 4x10 cab and my head to a friend of mine who doesn't have enough money to buy a nice rig of his own and his new band is really good and they had a pretty big show that night... well he called me about an hour before they went on stage and said that the head and cut off and wouldn't come back on. So I sent it off the to doctor for a cat scan.

So I dropped it of on monday. Then wednesday at band practice I plug up my trusty TKO combo and before I turn it I notice that the "Peavey" name plate has gotten busted and that a big hunk has been chipped off of the edge. So I take a deep breath and calmly try to collect myself. Then I turn the *#$%ing thing own some how it's developed a nice little 'roar' along with a random 'pop'. This didn't turn out too bad because now it sounds like an older tube amp that's cranked wide open. (A really nice warm almost distorted sound) But the 'pop' is just too much for me to take.

So with a gig earlier tonight I decided not to send it off to the doctor too and went ahead and played it tonight... hoping it was maybe just a grounding problem in the practice garage. NOPE It was still there. So now I'm stuck playing the 'pop' monster till I get my head back and I still don't even have a diagnosis for it.

But on the bright side my wife has a brand new car
yay... I'm happy

D4mn, that's not cool at all, Slyder. Hopefully the doc can fix the head. And all I'm saying is that your combo better get it's act together ~slaps it around a bit~. Congrats on the new car though.

Rumble and clarity? It's hard to get rumble out of bass amps, manufacturers seem to think everyone likes their bass loud, not necessarily low, hehe. I'm not sure what to say about clarity, I have a 50 watt peavey and it's plenty clear ^_^. And I've never had the pleasure of abusing anything Roland makes so I can't help there :p.

lol, you can get rumble out of a bass amp! crank the whole eq, but leave the bass up to 9, pull out your bright switch, and move the vibe knob to the rightto about 3 or 5 o clock. you'll get your rumble.......... Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil
