these strings are made of black nilon and supposed to make your bass sound more like a double bass-- any recomendations or comments on these?

hi put the tru bass 88s on my fretless bass and the steel flat plastic coated strings sound great. sounds more like a double bass and the feel great on too.
really deep sound just what i was after on my fretless.
the Beatles used them on the abbey road album so they have been about a long time but seemed to have got even better

I've used them off and on for 30 years or so, they can sound quite bright if you want them to, but fret noise is gone. They're great in the studio.
FYI, even tho' Roto's ad says "Abbey Road", McCartney actually used them on his Hofner for the "Let It Be" album.
