the one i saw had 6 strings, a very short neck, no frets, a very large body and it was acoustic. i believe bands that play miyachi music use them. does anyone know the name of this type of bass? thanks  _________________ then there was bass... |

I think you are talking about a guitarrón. They are the type of acoustic bass guitars used in mariachi bands. They are a large six string mexican bass. If you type guitarrón as the search word on google and do an image search, you'll get a bunch of pics of them. Hope that this helps.  |
