| A lot of folks slam these little amps but I think they make good practice amps myself. I own the LA-12 model [60w] and it is sufficient for rehearsals with my band and I could use it for small acoustic gigs if I wanted. |

My brother bought his son an SWR LA Gear 15 and an SX P-bass. I was noodlin' on it, thinking "hmmm, pretty plain jane sterile sound, no character, not a bad little bass though . .." and decided to try it with my SansAmp Bass Driver DI to warm things up a little. When I hooked that up my nephew's eyes got BIG. He didn't know his rig could sound so good. It just needs a little somethin' up front. The SX P-bass isn't bad at all, either.

| I have an LA15. For $300 it's by far the best amp you can get. I played a Hartke which sounded pretty bad, and a Fender which was worse. It's also very portable and one of the smaller 15" combos you can buy. I'd have to say go for it, I like the way it sounds. |

hey all,
this is my first post, and i wanted it to be about SWR. i own the LA 12 and LA 15 and love them both. when the bass cab i use in band practice is unavailable i just bring one of these SWR's along and i am good to go! glad to hear that SWR is thought of as highly as it is! _________________ i'm hoping that hopefully, hope will help me become hopeful. |

The LA 15 is a worthy little amp for practice and even small gigs. I just recently let mine go, when I aquired a redhead. I'm regretting getting rid of it now, it was so compact and easy to transport. all in all I believe you'll be happy with it _________________ Every third person in the world is mentally ill, to some degree...so look to your right then look to your left....if they seem normal....then it's you |

I am also considering a SWR LA15. The only problem is that it doesn't have XLR out. Is that actually necessary? I usually play for worship for an audience of 300 and with 100watts without any PA support kind of concerns me. I also thought about the Fender Bassman 100 which does have XLR out. Which one would be a worthy buy?
My budget range is $400-500. Thanks. |

I assume you are speaking of the Fender "rumble" series. I wouldn't recomend them over the SWR (just my opinion) I used my LA 15 in the same scenerio and it worked flawlessly. If you find you need more thump you can always get a "direct box" or just mike the amp and feed that to the P.A. _________________ Every third person in the world is mentally ill, to some degree...so look to your right then look to your left....if they seem normal....then it's you |

dude you should totally ge the LA 15. i have the LA 10 and its a good practice amp. I plan to get the 15 for my band cause the 10 isn't powerful enough to get an enven flow with the drums. but anyway you should totally invest in that _________________ I am Zak, I am an inspring bassit.
