What do you guys think about these? I'm debating between the 3000 and 3500 head, but I'm liking the cab I picked out. I'm pretty sure I played it too, even though I didn't know what it was. And I don't know what head it was. _________________ Hey. |

best for the money definatly.
i have a 3500. its a god sent bass head. ample (i made a funny, lol) power, 10 band eq (the most ive seen on any head) tube and solid state preamps (it actually has a tube in it too, its not electronicly made), and the compressor that adds all the punch ya need.
funny cause i also have the vx410
this is a really great amp. nice lows and punch to die for (i love my punch ), plus the tweeter makes it blast thru all.
if u buy it new its a nice set for only about $800. i got the head used and the cab new tho. so it only ran me about $600. if you ask me hartke definatly makes the best equipment for your money. so id go with this. |

I've owned a 3500 head for about 9 or so years, hoping to one day get an SWR Goliath 410, but for the longest time never got around to it.
Today I recently discovered I landed a new job, so to spoil myself I went down to Sam Ash and went shopping for a bass cabinet. I was originally set for an SWR Workingman's 210, (Sam Ash sold it for $399) but down the aisle I saw this Hartke VX410 for $299(!).
I spent over an hour deliberating and playing on both cabinets, using a similar Hartke head. I really LOVE the SWR sound and feel (I even played the $599 Workingman's 410 but it's out of my budget) but I went with the Hartke. I mean, it was a great value - it cost less than the SWR AND it was a 410. Besides the SWR 210 only handled 200 watts, where my Hartke head does 350.
For the longest time I've avoided Hartke cabinets like the plague (I'm sorry, I just don't like the way the aluminum cones sound and look, yeeccch!) but was pleased to find out they make paper cones now.
So now I have an all-Hartke rig. Pleased to know that I didn't get a lemon here. Even though my dream amp is an Eden, I['ll be happy with this Hartke rig for a while. _________________ I am Stingraymund. |
