i really wanna try one of these but no stores near me have them (well one store could order it for me but then id have to buy it)

anyone know what their like?

Ashdown makes very good bass gear, but they're a UK company like Marshall, so their gear isn't as available here in the states as other companies stuff, and it goes quickly.
I don't think you'd be disappointed with an Ashdown if you wanted to just order it, and many bassists I know use their amps and love them.
You can find reviews of most Ashdown bass gear online, such as Music Gear Review.
